Worry is part of being human. It's unavoidable - but it shouldn’t consume us or take up our time. Instead, fill your mind with peace and eternal thinking. It can take some practice to make it a habit, especially when stressful things come. Just remember, if Christ can calm a violent storm in the middle of a sea, He can help calm your mind. God’s plan is always the grand design and He sees every need. There’s no need to worry. Take a deep breath. Relax. He’s got you.
Mission preparation is one of those seasons that stretches you in all the best ways. It’s filled with excitement, nerves, unexpected delays, and beautiful reminders that God’s timing really is perfect—even when it doesn’t feel like it. Every setback can be a setup for something better He has in store. When we turn our lives over to Him, He truly does make so much more out of them than we ever could on our own.
I used to think family scripture study needed to look picture-perfect: quiet kids, profound insights, everyone listening reverently. But in my house? It looks more like snack crumbs in the scriptures, someone crying halfway through (probably me), and my toddler asking where the dinosaurs are in the Book of Mormon. Turns out, the Lord never asked for perfection — He just asked for our hearts. Five minutes of scripture study is better than none. Tiny, messy seeds still grow strong roots. And I’m learning that Jesus meets us in the chaos — right there on the living room floor.
Some days, kingdom work looks like sticky floors, overflowing laundry, and whispered prayers over little ones who don’t even know how much they’re teaching us about trust. Motherhood might feel ordinary and messy, but it’s holy ground — the mission field where Jesus meets us right where we are.
